  Electronic materials are materials that have electrical properties that make them useful in electronic devices.  These properties include electrical conductivity, insulation, and semiconductivity. Electronic devices are devices that rely on electronic components to perform their functions.  Some examples of electronic devices include computers, smartphones, televisions, and radios.  Electronic devices rely on the properties of electronic materials to function properly. Electronic materials can be categorized into three main groups: conductors, insulators, and semiconductors. Conductors, such as metals, have a high electrical conductivity, which allows electric current to flow through them with little resistance. Insulators, such as rubber or glass, have a very low electrical conductivity, which prevents electric current from flowing through them.  Semiconductors, such as silicon, have electrical properties that are between those of conductors and insulators.
